Flow Temple

A borrowed practice, taught carefully

Moxibustion has warmed people at home for two thousand years, mostly without instructions and mostly without a shop. Flow Temple is one bodyworker in Sydney packing a good kit and teaching the home practice plainly, sources named, limits included.

The Flow Temple Standard

Mugwort From Where It Grows Best

The units are grown and manufactured in Qichun County, Hubei, by Hubei Dingai Technology. Qichun is Li Shizhen's birthplace and China's protected origin region for moxa leaf, and its mugwort tests higher in volatile oils and burns hotter than leaf from elsewhere. Every batch is checked against its certificate before it ships from Sydney.

Borrowed, and Said So

Moxibustion is Chinese medicine. It is not mine, and this course does not pretend otherwise. What I teach is the home practice, the part families have always done for themselves, with its sources named and the rest left to trained practitioners.

Guided Autonomy

True cultivation is self-cultivation. The courses and tools exist so you can master these rituals independently.

A Ritual You Can Feel

Only practices with palpable effects make the curriculum. If a method doesn't produce a clear shift in your state, it isn't taught.

Let me tell you exactly where I come from, because you should know before you buy anything from me. I teach yoga and bodywork. I learned to find pressure points through Thai massage, working on real bodies, for years, with my hands. Chinese medicine came later and it came as a student: I read it, I practise moxa on myself most nights, and I keep reading.

What I am not is an acupuncturist, a Chinese medicine doctor, or anyone’s lineage holder. Nobody in Guangzhou handed me this. So I do the one thing I can do honestly: I take the home practice, the part families have done for themselves for centuries, and I teach it carefully, with the sources named, the doses conservative, and a clear line at the point where you should be seeing a registered practitioner instead of me.

  • Named sources: the protocols follow classical moxibustion literature, chiefly Illustrated Chinese Moxibustion (Singing Dragon), with the safety spine from Xu, Deng & Shen’s systematic review of case reports.
  • Hands, not theory: years of teaching bodywork, and a daily moxa practice of my own. Every point in the course is one I use.
  • Verified quality: every ritual unit personally checked before it ships.
  • A line I keep: anything past home practice goes to an AHPRA-registered acupuncturist, and the course says so out loud.

Moxibustion is the foundation. The temple is growing.
